John Ourednik


With a broad technical background, John has practical experience in electrical, mechanical, and nuclear engineering fields.

Prior to joining Miller, Matthias, & Hull LLP, John studied Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University and spent nearly ten years as a fast-attack Nuclear Submarine Officer in the US Navy.

After the Navy, he attended evening law school at Chicago-Kent and worked full-time as an electrical interconnect Sales Engineer, servicing Chicagoland’s data communication manufacturers. After law school, he gained patent prosecution experience at a boutique firm by searching, drafting utility patent applications, and drafting responses to US and international Office Actions related to data communication systems, augmented & virtual reality, electrical circuits, and autonomous vehicles technology areas. John is admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois.
