Helya M. Azari, Patent Agent Helya holds an electrical engineering bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in 2006 as well as an MBA from the University of Phoenix from 2008. Prior to joining our firm, she worked in industry as an electrical engineer for three years with Continental AG, a world leader in automotive electronics. Helya is registered to practice before the US Patent & Trademark Office and has successfully passed the FE/EIT professional engineering exam. With specific regard to areas of technical expertise, Helya has significant experience in automotive electronics, first from her days as an engineering co-op with Motorola Automotive, and then Continental AG. Her engineering experience was heavily involved in telematics, which is the field of enabling cars to communicate with other cars, cellular networks, and the internet. She was involved in developing TCUs (Telematic Control Units) and NADs (Network Access Devices), specifically using GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) and HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access) networks, for well known automotive products such as the BMW AssistTM and GM OnStar® systems . She also helped design and validate software for climate seat and body control modules, in-house development boards, data loggers, and operator interface graphics. Besides understanding the real world application of these technologies, Helya also is well-skilled with hands-on experience in surface-mounting and soldering of electronic components, equipment calibration, and troubleshooting with emulators, oscilloscopes, function generators, and multimeters. Among software programming languages, she is versed in Java, C, VHDL, Visual Basic, VEEPro, Matlab, Eagle, CCStudio, SAP, and Mentor graphics. She is also linguistically fluent in Farsi, German and English. |
